Aakash Sridhar is a pianist from Bangalore, India  honest emotions through unique, fresh, and captivating melodies in these unpredictable times. He started playing the tabla at the age of six, and ever since, music has always been a part of his life.

He initially pursued a Computer Science degree and regularly performed as a keyboardist after he was inducted into the college music band. During this span of time, he won laurels in several cultural competitions primarily in the style of Indian music. He was also awarded the opportunity to attend a workshop hosted by Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music, which opened his mind to other genres of music and the world of improvisation. It was at this point of time that the importance of getting a good musical education became apparent to him, leading him to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Contemporary Writing and Production at Berklee College of Music, Boston.

While in Berklee, he received the Berklee Achievement Scholarship (BAS) for his musical achievements and grew a reliable network of next generation jazz players with whom he released his first single 'Road to Oman'. He also collaborated with the Berklee Indian Ensemble and participated in the recording of a project that was recently nominated for a Grammy award for Best Global Music Album in 2022. 
 

While in India, he has always advocated sharing what he has learnt in the form of private lessons and masterclasses. He also held a professorship at the prestigious Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music in Chennai. In 2022, he was awarded the Dan Stambaugh Memorial Scholarship as well as the Fred Crane Jazz Piano Scholarship by the University of North Texas, where he is currently pursuing his Masters in Jazz Piano and is also a Graduate Teaching Assistant for higher level improvisation classes.
